Introduction

Ten87 Studios is a London-based community and co-working space dedicated to musicians. The company was undergoing a rebranding initiative and required a new website that would align with their updated corporate identity. I was excited to take on this project, given my affinity for working with companies and individuals in the music industry.

Technical Overview

Static Site Generation with Nuxt.js

One of the primary technical goals was to ensure quick website load times worldwide. By using Nuxt.js in its static site generation mode, we could pre-render all pages at build time, providing an incredibly fast and SEO-friendly experience.

Tailwind CSS for Design Consistency

To bring Ten87 Studios' new corporate identity to life online, Tailwind CSS was the go-to choice. Its utility-first design approach enabled rapid iterations over design components while ensuring brand consistency.

Dynamic Content via StoryBlok

Content management was done using StoryBlok, a headless CMS. This allowed the Ten87 Studios team to easily update website content, thus avoiding technical bottlenecks.

SEO Optimization with Nuxt Head Module

To address SEO requirements, I used the Nuxt Head module for managing the metadata of each page, which helped in achieving better SEO rankings.

Custom Blog Section

A custom blog section was also introduced to bolster SEO. This served as a content hub that could be frequently updated, positively impacting the site's SEO metrics.

Key Challenges & Solutions

1. Branding Consistency: Ensuring the new website matched Ten87 Studios' new corporate identity. Tailwind CSS was customized to align with the branding guidelines.

2. Global Accessibility: Making the website accessible and fast globally was a critical requirement. Nuxt.js and an external CDN helped achieve this goal.

3. SEO Optimization: Implementing effective SEO strategies was a key challenge. The Nuxt Head module made it easier to manage SEO-friendly metadata, and the custom blog section helped in adding valuable, dynamic content.

Results

The website was successfully launched on time and within budget. In addition to experiencing fast loading speeds across the globe and easy content management through StoryBlok, the site has also shown marked improvements in its SEO rankings.

Conclusion

Working on the Ten87 Studios website was a rewarding experience that showcased the capabilities of modern web development technologies like Nuxt.js, Tailwind CSS, and StoryBlok. It also emphasized the importance of SEO optimizations, which were achieved through the Nuxt Head module and the custom blog section.
